We are very proud of our building and are pleased to offer it as hub for connecting with people in the Marpole neighbourhood.
Community Meals – We offer three community meals: lunch on Wednesdays at 12 noon, dinner on Thursdays at 6:30pm, and breakfast on Fridays at 9:30am. All are welcome to join us for any or all of these meals. Donations are accepted at all meals, however it is not necessary to give to enjoy the meal and the company.
Eburne Dinners– St. A’s partners with the Eburne Society and a number of community volunteers to host three dinners for all who are looking for a good meal and some fun. The meals are hosted at Thanksgiving (October), Christmas (December) & Easter (March or April) usually on the first Wednesday of the month.
Food Bank – The Food Bank uses our hall every Thursday morning (except cheque week) to distribute fresh vegetables and other food items to those in need in our community.
Seniors’ Hub – We offer programs for Seniors throughout the week including the Stitch-in-Time knitting group; walking clubs, a chair exercise group; a games group (including ping-pong); art classes, and a variety of workshops and seminars on everything from planning your financial future to elder abuse. Drop by sometime to grab the latest schedule!
Community Services – Other services we have offered to the community have included a Flu Shot Clinic, a Tax Clinic for low-income earners, Foot Care help, and a Community Kitchen program.
Thrift Shop – Second Hand Rows is the name of the shop staffed by members of our family in the basement of the church. There are all kinds of items available from clothing to toys to select electronics, all for extremely reasonable prices. The shop is open on Food Bank Days (Thursdays) from 11am to 1pm, and again on Saturdays from 11am to 3pm. Donations of clothing, toys, dishware, books and other items are gladly accepted, but only during the hours the shop is open, please.
